The things which are illegal in Sweden and can be done over the Internet are: ('can' not equalling 'allowed to') (more 'substantial' matters) * Fraud, any kind, including spreading of bad, false rumours regarding others * Libel, any kind, including promotion of prejudice against a group or individual * Threatening others with illegal actions or implicit harassment * Harassment, any kind. This includes any kind of (intentionally) abusive behaviour against an individual who plausibly could be of an age below 15. (Esoteric crimes which noone, as far as i know, has been found guilty of using an Internet service or similar for) + Subversive activity or cooperation with foreign intelligence service without the consent of the government (espionage and sabotage) (Oh, yeah, we have SO many spies on SPR...:-)) + Exploitation of others by means of abusing dependency or weakness For example entering faux sexual relations with for example too young people, ie, statuatory rape. * Encouragement of criminality + Distribution for other than research, educational or governmental purpose of photographic material depicting RL sexual abuse of RL children Sweden has no laws regarding expression other than what is said above. This text is not guaranteed to be complete. SPR's responsibility SPR's responsibility in case a user violates the law is clearly defined by the law and is as follows: * SPR is NOT responsible for what a user does, as long as SPR a) Has plausible means of identifying the user (Ie, the email address, which is why we call free services 'invalid'.) b) In case SPR is used as means for violating the law, remove the user We will, as fast as we can, provide both logs and what identification we have if a reported violation of the law proves to be true (we do check the logs). We will also remove anyone who uses SPR as means for such a violation. SPR is not a common carrier, but it IS a carrier, a messenger. As long as we stick to this, we are virtually impossible to sue, prosecute or similar. But what about guests? Guests are unidentified, and should be treated as such. If a guest violates the law, the entire site will be guestbanned and the admin will be notified. As we have the address and the login time, most ISPs SHOULD have logs enough to pinpoint the user. Of course, as many pointed out, one can lie to the ISP and use a false name, but in that case, that is strictly a matter between the person and his or her ISP. Most ISPs demand credit card payment, and this is traceable. Phones are also traceable, but this is far out from SPR's jurisdiction.
